The Tekla team introduced new update version of its software for structural engineering, fabrication and construction teams—Tekla Structures 2018i SP3. This update contain new features, and improvements and fixes to existing features.
Release Notes - Tekla Structures 2018i SP3 TSAC-2107 In Reinforcement mesh array in area (89), you can now define the polygon generation start point index.
TSAC-2742 In Round joining plates (124), the antimaterial in the hole which creates a cut in the base plate is no longer shown in drawings.
TSAC-2587 In Bolted moment connection (134), Column with stiffeners W (182) and Column with stiffeners (188), the doubler plate cut for avoiding a clash with the main part is now created correctly.
TSAC-2563 In Brace corner tubes & Pl (44), parts no longer get new a ID when modifying the component.
TSAC-2522 In Cage ladder (S60), the parts welded to the ladder no longer lose welds when the component is modified.
TSAC-2456 In Haunch (40), an unwanted chamfer was previously created on the partial stiffener. This has now been fixed.
TSAC-2452 In Rebar hole, when Rounding type on the Parameters tab is set to Round by table and Hole type on the Advanced tab is set to Part cut or Bolt hole + part cut, if the maximum rebar diameter value in the table is smaller than the rebar diameter defined in the rebar properties, Tekla Structures displayes a warning message: Rebar diameter from table is smaller than the rebar diameter from model.
TSAC-2419 In Wraparound gusset (58), the slotted holes for the additional bolts in clip angles are now applied correctly.
TSAC-2399 In Tube gusset (20), previously, welding was not created when you only specified the below line weld properties for weld 2. This has now been fixed.
TSAC-2393 Column with stiffeners S (187) now scans the secondary part geometry without cuts created outside the component.
TSAC-2386 In Bolted moment connection (134), slotted holes for the lower flange plate are now applied correctly.
TSAC-2377 In Tube gusset (20) and Hollow brace wraparound gusset (59), the slotted hole properties on the bracing side are now applied correctly.
TSAC-1834 In Hollow brace wraparound gusset (59), you can now control the bolt type separately for gusset side and bracing side bolts on the Brace bolts 1 and 2 tabs.
TTSD-19633 In Organizer, when you clicked and moved the mouse over the Color set command, the command stayed highlighted even when you moved the mouse away from the command. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-24392 The performance of the reference model insert has been improved when the Tekla Structures model already contains non-visible unloaded reference models. After the fix, non-visible reference models are not loaded anymore in the reference model insert.
TTSD-24298 Drawing DWG export now outputs the Romsim font in a size that is closer to the one you see in the drawing.
TTSD-24051 The SketchUp export did not work if the Tekla Structures model name contained special characters. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-23950 IFC object conversion sometimes misplaced cuts. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-23475 IFC object conversion did not convert curved walls correctly in some cases. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-23264 The IFC object conversion update now keeps the user-created part cuts.
TTSD-23063 The IFC object conversion did not handle or convert round cuts for plate. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22387 When manually importing a new profile through the Modify Profile Catalog dialog box using the Replace option, all parts in the model could sometimes get unintentionally modified. Now all unaffected parts remain untouched after the import.
TTSD-21384 In the IFC2x3 export, the surface treatment to all faces of the part is now properly written to the IFC model.
TTSD-20772 In IFC export, the length of a hole is now fixed to be material thickness plus the tolerance value.
TTSD-14434 When creating IFC2x3 export files the application name "Tekla Structures Educational" was shown in the IFC output header even though the license was Full. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-20722 Support for showing numbers greater than 2^31 was added.
TTSD-22315, TTSD-20427 XS_ALLOW_REBARS_ON_TOP_OF_EACH_OTHER was causing some GA drawings to crash Tekla Structures in 2018i. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-24406 When Secondary part dimension direction was set to Neighbor part in dimensioning properties, there was sometimes a crash when creating or modifying assembly drawings. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-24041 Master Drawing Catalog can now be opened in Partner configuration again.
TTSD-24038 Drawing settings for bolt marks with templates now create marks properly.
TTSD-23449 There were problems opening a drawing containing failing bolt solids. This has now been fixed and drawings can be opened even if there is a failing bolt solid.
TTSD-23301 Document manager now works correctly even if there are invalid paths in the XS advanced options
TTSD-23213 In earlier versions, if drawing dimension was selected and then it was turned off in view dimension properties, the handle points remained visible. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22912 Drawings with custom plug-ins using lots of graphical objects, such as lines, or rectangles, have now slightly better performance.
TTSD-22673 Linked views were not deleted from a drawing when the source drawing for the linked views was deleted. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22647 Dimension post and prefix marks were incorrectly aligned. They are now again at the same y location as the dimension value text.
TTSD-22391 Rebar sets in drawings were not working correctly if drawings were cloned. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22365 Sub-assembly welds in GA drawings now follow the same setting as the main assembly welds. There is no separate option to control sub-assembly welds in GA drawings.
TTSD-22317 Sometimes in a drawing with a custom template and small section views, all surface treatments were not properly drawn in all of the views. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-21852 In Document Manager, a crash occurred if the user did not have access rights to view files in a folder defined in DocumentManagerFileDocumentSettings.txt.
TTSD-21312 Previously, when adding marks in drawings with applied settings, some properties were lost if the drawing was updated. Now any new marks added with applied properties are kept during the update.
TTSD-21305 The Flip outside dimension setting in dimension properties produced incorrect info to Undo history. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-19546 Rebar group marks can be moved anywhere again using Shift and drag.
TTSD-19286 An error could occur when double-clicking reinforcement drawing tools in the Applications & components catalog. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-18368 Rebars of strirrup arc types now have correct length in pull-out pictures.
TTSD-17943 The tolerance for RD text in drawing dimensions has been adjusted so it no longer collides with the dimension text.
TTSD-17876 Removing dimension points from curved dimension could corrupt the whole dimension. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-17669 Manual weld marks are no longer deleted when modifying view settings in a drawing.
TTSD-17450 Drawing DWG export is now bit more robust with handling custom drawing of parts.
TTSD-17250 The new printing incorrectly displayed a watermark in drawings with the Educational stamp. The text Educational was also shown in the PDF properties for a drawing. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-7516 Slight performance improvement in drawings where there are a lot of highly detailed and complex objects overlapping one another, for example, a 3D view in a GA drawing
TSAC-2672 BVBS Export: The Partner and Developer configurations were added to the list of allowed configurations.
TSAC-2621 Rebar pull-out picture and marking: The pull-out picture creation of spiral and circular reinforcement now works correctly. Previously it caused Tekla Structures to hang.
TSAC-2600 Rebar group dimensioning: Symbols for dimensioning rebars are now placed correctly.
TSAC-2596 Rebar group dimensioning: Invisible color can now be applied.
TSAC-2584 Rebar group dimensioning: Fixed the incorrectly dimensioned rebar groups in some combinations of distribution bar type and excluding start/end bars. The fix affects the situations when you had selected Exclude first, Exclude last or Exclude first and last, and combined it with one the following types of distribution: Equal distribution by target spacing value, By exact spacing value with flexible first space, By exact spacing value with flexible last space, or By exact spacing value with flexible first and last space.
TSAC-2404 Rebar group dimensioning: You can now also dimension circular bar groups.
TSAC-2333 In dimensioning rule properties, the Dimension to setting for vertical dimensions is now read correctly from rule file.
TSAC-2319 Rebar group dimensioning: The dimensions arrows were positioned incorrectly when you were using the setting Visibility of reinforcing bars in group with the option two bars in the middle of group in drawing reinforcement properties. This has now been fixed.
TSAC-2104 Rebar pullout picture and marking: Text placement has been improved so, that texts do not overlap with each other or rebar.
TSAC-1180 Draw rebar pull-outs: Fixed a problem that in some cases pull-out pictures were also created from parts that were not selected by the user.
TTSD-20112 Tekla Structures no longer crashes when trying to select a material if the matdb.bin file is missing from the currently used environment folder.
TTSD-23179 The performance of Organizer synchronization has been improved in situations where the model history contains a lot of deleted objects.
TTSD-23046 Previously, if Tekla Structures crashed or if the Tekla Structures process was somehow forced to exit during write out, this could result in missing drawing files. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22652 In Tekla Model Sharing, read in performance has been improved.
TTSD-22644 Previously, when reading in, a locked drawing did not override the local changes to the drawing. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22212 In Tekla Model Sharing, canceling the start sharing was not possible during packet creation. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-24323 The Diagnose and repair numbering: series of selected objects command now works correctly for rebar sets.
TTSD-23731 Rebar set bars are now correctly shown as selected in the model when selected in Task manager.
TTSD-23719 Rebar set bars are now correctly shown as selected in the model when selected in Organizer.
TTSD-22910 There are now two new advanced options (based on the creation method) to define the angle tolerance between the leg faces in rebar set creation:
The default value is 45 degrees for both options.
TTSD-22045 In some cases, rebar segment lengths were reported with slight inaccuracy. This has now been improved.
TTSD-19875 Previously, to make rebar sets visible when opening the custom component editor, you had to redraw the view. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-19685 The end detail modifier hook type could not be changed in the contextual toolbar if the bending radius was non-standard. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-24372 Previously, the database size could become too large if you created and deleted multiple objects with UDAs. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-22670 Previously, if a model with pour breaks had a model view along the XZ or YZ planes created, this would cause pour breaks to be shown as duplicates in the wrong place. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-20475 Modifying bent plates has been changed so that you can now modify the connecting plates freely as long as they fit some bend.
TTSD-20433 Selecting parts in large models is now much faster.
TTSD-17887 If you need to reset pour unit contents and relations defined using the Calculate pour units command and/or the Add to pour unit command, you can now use the following commands in Quick Launch:
. Reset all pour unit relations
. Reset all manually assigned pour unit relations
. Reset all pour unit relations except manual assignments
The first two commands have a dialog box where you confirm the command. This is because you cannot undo the commands.
TTSD-17847 When numbering (with the save-numbering-save setting selected in the Numbering set up dialog box), unnamed temporary views disappeared when canceling the numbering. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-23434 In Tekla Model Sharing models, using Organizer or some other .NET tools could previously cause errors at write out when using the Project viewer role. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-12860 The contextual toolbar profiles are now fetched from external environment firm folders along with the users' local profile folder. These external profiles can be loaded in, but any changes will still be saved in the users' local folder as new profiles.
TSAC-1710 Rebar Coupler and Anchor Tools: Previously, the assembly structure was broken when a coupler was created as a custom part and you attached the rebar to another part after the couplers were created. Note that if the assembly hierarchy is already broken, you need to explode the cast unit, or remove the extra part from the cast unit, and update the coupler once to get the couplers added to the correct cast unit.
TTSD-24560 Sometimes Tekla Structures crashed when opening or refreshing a view with polygon reinforcement meshes displayed with the Fast representation. This has now been fixed.
TTSD-23422 The Work plane handler toolbar now works correctly when a new view is created using the part plane.
TTSD-21857 New concrete spiral beams now show the correct pour phase number in the property pane when the pour phase has been set for other previously created concrete spiral beams.
TTSD-21806 Previously, when you clicked a selection or snap switch button, and then clicked another selection or snap switch button, the button you had clicked first also stayed selected for some time. This happened when a firm or project folder was mapped to a network drive and the network connection was slow. Now this has been fixed.
TSAC-2765 BVBS Export: The BVBS export now reports the diameter value as the nominal rebar diameter regardless of the XS_USE_ONLY_NOMINAL_REBAR_DIAMETER setting, according to the specification.
TSAC-2755 Export Unitechnik (79): It is now possible to specify a user-defined concrete volume template property for export using the Concrete volume option on the SLABDATE block data tab.
TSAC-2741 Export Unitechnik (79): It is now possible to export Unloading type using the option on the SLABDATE data block tab. Also, it is possible to set Unloading type and Transportation type on the Unitechnik tab for precast concrete parts, which overrides the export dialog box option.
TSAC-2690 Export Unitechnik (79): Reading data from the Mounting part data specification tab for steel parts is now working correctly.
TSAC-2669 Export Unitechnik (79): New option Exclude all has been added on the Validation tab page for the setting Export others to exclude the whole mesh from the export when it fails the validation. Option No has been renamed to Remove invalid mesh wires and now it excludes only invalid mesh wires and not the whole mesh when it fails the validation as before.
TSAC-2644 Export Unitechnik (79): The embed recognition has been improved in cases where both double wall shells have the same hierarchy level in the assembly.
TSAC-2614 Export Unitechnik (79): Reinforcing bars exported as embeds are now exported with correct geometry.
TSAC-2612 Export Unitechnik (79): It is now possible to export exposition class using the new option Exposure class on the SLABDATE data block specification tab.
TSAC-2610 Export Unitechnik (79): Production thickness export for double walls has been changed. With the option Cast unit width the cast unit thickness is exported for both shells.
TSAC-2594 Export EliPlan file (68): It is now possible to specify a selection filter using the setting Export using filter. The parts are selected using the specified selection filter
TSAC-2514 Export EliPlan file (68): Cuts created at diagonally cut slabs no longer affect the calculation of L1 and L2 values.
TSAC-2337 BVBS Export: Now the exported circular and spiral rebars get the arc inner radius instead of the center-line radius. This value is inquired from report property DIM_R, and calculated from the rebar geometry if the DIM_R is missing.
TSAC-2277 Export Unitechnik (79): You can now export the means of transportation information using the new option option Transport type on the SLABDATE block data specification tab.
TSAC-1525 Export Unitechnik (79): You can now validate rebar and mesh leg lengths, and mesh overhangs and spacings. Now you can also select to export non-valid rebars as non-automated or to prevent the export. The new and changes settings are located on the Validation tab.
